Our Story
Let's take a look at some of the key moments which occurred that brought our brand and Sam The Dancing digital Angel into existence.
The Gift


What began as a heartfelt gift soon blossomed into a thriving business opportunity.
Shortly after a relative had given birth to a baby girl, we decided to create a high quality personalised plush teddy as a unique and heartfelt gift utilising the technology we had available in our business at the time. The unbranded bear was then put to one side in a safe place in our design studio with absolutely zero intention of selling whatsoever. Demand for the teddies unexpectedly skyrocketed. What began as a heartfelt gift soon blossomed into a thriving business opportunity. Friends and family fell in love with the unique teddies and word of mouth spread quickly with requests pouring in from all over the place including overseas.

The Competition


The winning entry being Give and Keep G&K was chosen.
We quickly realised that we needed a brand name and so began the search for the perfect name to market our incredibly popular teddy bears. This inspired us to host a competition at a local school that aligned with the age group our target audience. After offering a prize for the winning entry and outlining our criteria for the ideal brand name, the winning entry being Give and Keep G&K was chosen.

The Birth of Sam


It was at this point we decided to create a gifts and entertainment brand that was known for being cool as well as cute.
With a brand name now in hand, the next stage required us to design a logo. After attending various gift trade shows to explore the current market options available, we observed that there were plenty of 'cute' options that were leaning heavily towards the feminine in the marketplace however 'cool' options that would be more suited towards a unisex audience seemed very few and far between. It was at this point in our brand development journey that we decided to create a gifts and entertainment brand that was known for being 'cool as well as cute eventually leading to Sam The Dancing Digital Angel being born.

To introduce the 'cool factor' into our brand, we decided to embrace the digital realm, transforming Give and Keep into a digitally enabled gifts and entertainment brand. Each time a G&K gift was exchanged, Sam The Dancing Digital Angel would spring to life, dancing upon the scan of a QR code on the recipient's mobile phone. This innovation would enable Give and Keep customers to enjoy both a physical and digital experience simultaneously whilst making Sam the star of the show. With further experimentation with Sam, we also discovered his magical ability to entertain audiences in different costumes and scenarios. Fellow Angels were later introduced to add to the mix creating fun and unique entertainment experiences.
